Rosca de reyes is a Mexican bread name of Spanish origin meaning "kings' ring". It is built from Spanish rosca (ring, coil) and de (of) and reyes (kings). It is pronounced ROS-kah deh RAY-es, and it is most associated with the whole country.
Eaten on Epiphany, 6 January, for the three kings. The plastic baby hidden inside stands for the Christ child in hiding, and whoever cuts into it owes tamales on Candelaria in February.
