What Sopa seca means
Sopa seca is a Mexican soup or stew name of Spanish origin meaning "dry soup". It is built from Spanish sopa (soup) and seca (dry). It is pronounced SOH-pah SEH-kah, and it is most associated with the whole country.
A contradiction only in translation. In the Mexican comida the sopa course can be wet, a broth, or dry, meaning rice or pasta that has drunk all its liquid.
